Blackmagic design believe that the video industry is rapidly changing from a vertical market of specialized hardware design into a horizontal market of open standards engineering.

Computerization means standardization, and in its efforts to revolutionize the video industry Blackmagic Design deliberately focuses on the rapidly evolving and maturing computer standards for video processing by building complementary video hardware that seamlessly fits into these highly transparent environments.

decklinkpro.jpgBlackmagic Design DeckLink video boards can connect to any existing SD or HD video equipment using any existing SD or HD video standard, while at the inside they tap into the standard QuickTime or DirectShow layers, merging the two worlds of high end video processing and standard computing. As a result DeckLink video hardware can be used in combination with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Vegas, After Effects, Combustion, Shake or any other software compatible with the open QuickTime or DirectShow standards. By consequence there is practically no limiting factor to use standard Mac or PC software and hardware to do the most demanding editing or compositing job at whatever quality level.

Introducing Multibridge Eclipse

New features include:

• 2K, HD and SD true uncompressed real-time capture and playback.
• New 3 Gb/s SDI technology with dual link SDI connections.
• HDMI capture and playback.
• Analog component, NTSC, PAL and S-Video capture and playback.
• 12 channels of AES/EBU audio capture and playback.
• 4 channels of analog XLR audio capture and playback.
• 16 channels of SDI audio capture and playback.
• 32 independent audio level meters.
• Full compatibility with the new Apple ProRes codec in Final Cut Pro.

blackmagic_mbeclipse.pngMultibridge Eclipse introduces 3 Gb/s SDI connections. Normal HD-SDI operates at 1.5 Gb/s and these new SDI connections are twice as fast,
while retaining compatibility with normal HD-SDI and standard definition SDI equipment.

3 Gb/s SDI allows 4:4:4 RGB using a single BNC connection, however themost exciting aspect is we have developed a new technology that allows
3 Gb/s to connect real time 2K (2048 x 1556) feature film resolution video. This means you can connect real time 2K video between equipment
just as you do with SD and HD video today.

Multibridge Eclipse captures and plays back native 2K via SDI using a single BNC cable but also includes dual inputs and outputs for compatibility with current dual link 4:4:4 equipment. Multibridge Eclipse is compatible with existing equipment today but also has potential to support even higher resolutions in the future using dual link 3 Gb/s SDI connections.

If you’re working with HDMI and analog video, then Multibridge Eclipse allows capture and playback in HDMI as well as analog component, NTSC,
PAL and S-Video. Multibridge Eclipse also includes 3D lookup tables on playback, so you can simulate film stock looks, or compensate for displays etc.

Multibridge Eclipse also features a massive 12 channels of AES/EBU audio on XLR connectors, as well as 4 channels of pro analog audio on
XLR connectors. To accommodate the extra audio connections, Multibridge Eclipse is a larger 2 rack units in size.

Multibridge Eclipse will be available in July for R 27,895.00

Introducing HDLink Pro

The first choice for thousands of people who needed low cost HD monitoring using DVI or HDMI displays. However it's now time to introduce a new model with the latest video technologies for even more features.

HDLink Pro includes the new 3 Gb/s SDI, 2K monitoring via SDI when used with a 30-inch display, as well as adding 3D lookup tables and 6 channels of audio outputs.

With the new Multibridge Eclipse and its 2K via SDI feature, the new HDLink Pro supports 3 Gb/s SDI and larger 30 inch displays. When
connected to a Multibridge Eclipse, you can play back 2K on to a 30-inch display with pixel for pixel 2048 x 1556 and 24 fps film resolution display. Of course you can still use 24-inch DVI displays for normal HD-SDI monitoring!

As we can now monitor film resolution, we have also added other features to help the film editing process. HDLink Pro includes built in 3D lookup tables, and the HDLink Utility has been enhanced to let you connect via USB and adjust the lookup tables interactively so you can play with your own custom film looks. You can also load lookup tables from files so you can use third party software for generating tables.

We have also added 6 channels of audio out so you can monitor surround sound audio in 5.1. This saves a lot of money when you need to de-embed
more channels of audio from the SDI video connection. The SDI video connection also has a loop output, so you can loop thru video to other
monitors etc. You can even send 3D lookup table processed video to the SDI loop output.

HDLink Pro also introduces a new design with all connections on one side. After looking at HDLink installations we realized that connections on one side allows all the cables to come out the bottom of the monitor and makes cable management much easier.
HDLink Pro will be available in July for a recommended price of R 6350.00

Introducing Intensity Pro

Since launching the original Intensity board last September, thousands have been sold and it's been an incredibly popular product for us.
Although this is very exciting, a lot of people have older analog equipment, or even HDV cameras that only have analog connections. They
needed a way to capture and play back from these devices.

Intensity Pro is a new model that has the same HDMI capture and playback as Intensity, but also has a break out cable with RCA
connections for analog component, NTSC, PAL or S-Video capture and playback as well as analog audio in and out.

With Intensity Pro you can connect to the latest HDMI equipment, analog component HD cameras or even analog DV, Video-8 and VHS cameras. At NAB we have connected the Intensity Pro analog output to a 24-inch BVM series professional monitor so it's easy to demonstrate the incredible
quality of the component video on this card.

We have also updated our On-Air mixing software to allow compatibility with Intensity Pro so you can dust off those older cameras for live
mixing! We will also have a new v1.4 software release for Intensity that introduces HD to SD down conversion on playback as well as SD to
HD up conversion on capture.
