Overview

This 1 year 2D animation course is designed to further previous or current studies, and/or experience in the field of animation. This course will expand your knowledge on the principals of animation, and you will learn how to apply them successfully to your animation.

This will not only allow you to have a better understanding of movement, but also supply you with the correct tools, to give your animation soul, attitude and solid performance. You will achieve this by learning how to give character weight, balance, pose, line of action, timing and animation that is believable. The course will supply you with the necessary nuts and bolts in the art of animation, that in turn will give you the final grounding required as an animator.

All the training that we offer is directly related and applicable, to any form of animation from stop frame to 3D. The knowledge of 2D principals in animation has been, and will always be a prerequisite in any portfolio. Furthermore it is one of the employment requirements stipulated by any major studio.

2D Animation Course:

• Life Drawing and Drawing Skills
• Digital Inking Rough to Clean
• Character Development, Model Sheets, Turn Around, Hand Gestures, Head Gestures, Expressions, Props and backgrounds
• Storyboarding
• Principles of Animation including Basic Animation, Character Animation and Lip syncing
• Compile and present portfolios of work

• A one page statement of intent, describing in your own words why you wish to pursue a career in the animation industry
• Write a one page review of an animated feature film of your own choice
